The Cave of the Lakes is located near the village of Kastria of Achaia, 16.5 km from Kalavryta.

Its 13 successive stepped lakes make it unique in its kind to the world.
The utilized length of the cave is 500 m and its total length is 1,980 m.

The visitor enters the cave by an artificial tunnel leading directly to the second floor from a total of three. The ponds are crossed by elevated artificial bridges.
On the lower floor of the cave were found fossilized human bones and various animals. This section is intended for a biomedical laboratory of international prominence.

In 1964, the residents of Kastria first climbed the second floor with a 9 m.

The exploitation of the cave began in 1981 by the Greek Tourism Organization.
